Make it a Beautiful Day

Perspective changes everything.  As you go about your day today, I challenge you to look for ways to be joyful instead of looking for reasons to complain. When you find yourself in a situation and you’re not sure what to do, take a long, deep breath and smile a delightful, sincere smile.
As you make a choice to put beauty in your thoughts, you’ll start to see beauty in your world. The best way is to just stop and think of all that you have to be thankful for at that moment.  After you accept what is, you can transform it into the best of what can be. There is nothing that ends up being the way it first seems.  Why?  Because it is all influenced by your perspective and your actions.
I challenge you to enjoy the unexpected twists and turns in your life’s adventure. Dare to treasure the experience, the learning, the love and the richness of every little thing.
Make life great by appreciating just how great it is. Start to give each day value by making positive, purposeful use of it.
If you do this moment by moment you will see small, fragile sprouts of beauty, wonder and abundance spring up in every moment. Love them, nurture them and let them grow into a beautiful day of your own design.

Encouragement is U...

Nobody's life is perfect.  We all experience disappointments, setbacks, bad breaks and frustrations at some point in our lives. At times it will seem that they all come at once, and we find ourselves in a funk. Before we know it, we start to see the negative side of everything around us.  This funk is easy to fall into however it is not how we are supposed to live.  With a little effort and change of mentality we can turn this funk into encouragement, not only for ourselves but for others.
It all begins by taking action.  I encourage you to start by doing something positive. Taking action puts you in control of your life.  It helps you to get positively focused. Small accomplishments can do wonders for your attitude.  It can be as simple as organizing a drawer, doing maintenance around the house or office or even just adding some flowers to your scenery.  Just do something positive for yourself.
I encourage you to help someone else. I challenge you to bring some cheer into someone's life. Read a book to a child. Make a donation of time or money. Help your neighbor with a project. Be a blessing to someone by sharing a smile or a hug.  You will find as you give of yourself, you’ll begin to feel great.
I encourage you to start right now to count your blessings. There are so many good things about life that you cannot take for granted. I challenge you to appreciate and be thankful for your home, your health, your family, your life’s experiences, your friends, your skills, your knowledge, and the beautiful world around you. Stop and think of all the people who love you and care about you.  You really are blessed within this imperfect world.
I encourage you to find something to do that will challenge you.  Strive to re-direct your negative energy and frustrations toward something that will challenge you to be your best.  Strive to bring out the best in you, no matter your circumstance.
Remember that things will only be as negative or as positive as you make them. So adjust your attitude, get your life on the upward trail and be that encouragement that everyone needs.

Take it in Stride

The mistakes and frustrations we encounter are valuable life lessons that mold us into who we are and who we become.  When we are on the way to the top, the setbacks, mistakes and frustrations we have do not make our accomplishment any less magnificent. In fact, they make it more precious and full of meaning.  We just have to take it all in stride.
We must strive to learn from our mistakes and move forward. Each mistake, each frustration is full of power to stop or delay our progress. The key is to not add to that power by allowing it to continue to delay or stop us.
I challenge you to work through them, get past them and never look back. When you are determined and focused, you will find it is quite easy to get past the mistakes and frustrations as long as you refuse to weigh it down with regrets.
The value of any accomplishment comes from the effort with which it is reached.
Remember the mistakes, the frustrations, the difficulty all serve to create value in the accomplishment which is sought. I challenge you to take them in stride. You can and will get through them as you find yourself on your way to achieving exactly what you desire.

Power in Kindness...

There is power in kindness.  You are always told to kill them with kindness.  It is almost always bigger received than given. Something small to you is often huge to someone else.  It's often the smallest thing that you offer that makes a tremendous difference to those who receive it.
Kindness will increase the effectiveness of your efforts. It is the smallest gesture of kindness can bring a huge result. All it takes is one act of ambitious kindness that can start you on your journey to change the world. Kindness will multiply itself in a way that seems almost magical.
A person that has a life is full of richness is often someone who knows and understands the value of genuine kindness. It is not a difficult thing to grasp or to bring about, yet it is freely available to all who wish to practice it.
I challenge you today to create opportunities for kindness every chance you get. You will find they will become more valuable than gold to those that find themselves on the receiving end of your kindness.  There is power in kindness.  There is magic in kindness.  You can make a difference with kindness and that is what I challenge you to do.

Nobody is Perfect

Nobody is perfect.  We all make mistakes, and that is okay.  What we have to do is be willing to admit our mistakes and acknowledge our setbacks.  When we do this they lose their control over us. I'll say it again, everyone makes mistakes. I'll go as far as to say is that most often we find ourselves being wrong more than being right. Let me let you in on a little secret, the key is to recognize the errors and get back on course.
Think about it, if you make a wrong turn, you don’t have to keep going down that road. You turn around and get back on the highway. But you have to realize that the sooner you get back on course, the sooner you’ll arrive at your destination.  That is how you should look at  your life.  The sooner you get back on course, the sooner you will reach your goals and start living your dreams.
There will be bad days.  We all have them.  There will be days that you don't accomplish all you set out to do.  That happens to us all.  That is another secret for you. It happens to us all.  Don’t waste tomorrow fretting about it.
I challenge you to get on with your journey. I challenge you to pick up where you left off, and leave the setback behind. The setback is a setup for a comeback.  So move forward. Even when you get kicked back, delayed, thrown of course, or distracted you must stop, refocus and move forward.
Nobody can determine your direction but you.  Your life is up to you. So no matter how many mistakes you make, strive to keep going.  No matter where you find yourself, you can always move in the direction of your goals and dreams.  No matter what you have done, what you do now is up to you.  So I challenge you to keep making mistakes as long as you keep moving forward, besides nobody is perfect.

Planting Seeds...

Often we see and want the end product or result without knowing or wanting the process that it took to get there.  For instance, farmers can cause an abundance of food to literally spring out of the ground.  However, they must plant the seeds first.  Then they must water and tend to the crops as they grow, protecting them from weeds, bugs and elements.  Then after a period of time they become ripe enough to harvest.  It's a process, sometimes a long process, that some people don't understand nor choose to wait for.
We live in a microwave age.  Our society has become accustomed to instant gratification. Television brings us instant entertainment, delivery services move our stuff overnight, the Internet gives us instant mail, the telephone gives us instant conferences, GPS let us find locations instantly, microwave ovens and fast food restaurants provide instant food. The list goes on and on.
All this quickness hides one important truth: that some of the best things in life take time. Things like relationships, experience, education, skills and wealth, they all take time to cultivate.  When you go after these things, expecting to get them overnight, you end up spinning your wheels.  You must learn to pursue them the right way.
You must learn to plant seeds, and then nurture them while they take root and grow. What seeds will you grow?  I challenge you to create your long-term goals now. Start to create your action plan to make them happen.  Knowing where you want to be a couple of years from now, is important.
So choose to start laying the groundwork today.  Choose to live your life today.  Chose to slow down and enjoy the world around you.  Choose to plan for tomorrow, planting seeds along the way.
